This food quantity chart lets you know how much food to purchase for cooking for a crowd of 50 or more.
After trying nine meal kit delivery services and cooking around 190 meals over the course of four months, we recommend four options. Read on to learn more. Some people wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night and know that they need to make a change; others wait for an intervention to hear what they already suspected was true. I knew it was time for my career overhaul when the quantity of Advil I had to take surpassed the number of hours in my shift. I lasted almost a decade as a restaurant line cook—in both fine dining venues. If you answered “yes” to one of more of those questions, then you are an “Occasional Quantity Cook”. This food quantity chart represents approximate amounts of food you should purchase when you are cooking for a crowd of 50 people. Food items are typical of what might be served at a party or meal for a large crowd.

This chart gives amounts for 50 servings. For 25 people, divide amounts indicated by 2. For 100, multiple by 2. All serving amounts are approximate. Please use your best judgment.
